Women Shaping Our Community honored Selma doctor with 'Excellence in Medicine' award

Dr. Kristina Lovinggood was honored at the Celebrating Women Shaping Our Community ceremony held by the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce where she received the "Excellence in Medicine" award. 

Lovinggood is an optometrist who practices at Primary EyeCare Center. 

"The Excellence in Medicine Award honors a physician who has demonstrated excellence and a high level of commitment to medicine," the chamber said in a message.

"The woman who receives this award exemplifies the highest values of volunteerism, community engagement, leadership and dedication to the care of the underserved population."
