Work to revitalize Green Street Baptist on target for Dec. 5 communion service

Green Street. 

Green Street Baptist Church has a lot to be thankful for this season.

The historic church has fallen into disrepair, culminating with the collapse of the sanctuary roof in 2016. A multi-phase plan to clean up and revitalize the church has made great progress.

Aaron Roper, owner of the Anchor, who is heading up the revitalization plan, said a new roof is now on the Education Building, and debris left when the sanctuary collapsed is 95% removed, according to Roper.
