Mizzou track and field had four Tigers place in the top 10 on the final day of the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships in Auburn, Alabama.
Lasse Funck, Monica Wanjiku, Kobi Walker and Ames Burton highlighted Missouri’s performance on the final day of competition.
Both the men’s and women’s teams earned 14th overall. The women’s team earned 25.5 points and the men’s team finished with 16.
Funck clinched sixth place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3 minutes, 44.79 seconds.
Wanjiku earned sixth in the 5,000, finishing in 15:55.18. Walker also finished in the top 10 of the 5,000 with a time of 16:11.44 that put her in 10th place.
Allison Newman competed in the 5,000, as well, setting a new personal best with a time of 16:50.72.
Senior discus thrower Ames Burton took seventh place with a personal best throw of 179 feet, 9 inches.
The Tigers will next compete in the NCAA West First Round. They will wait 11 days until the tournament starts on May 28 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
