From left, Mizzou defensive end Langden Kitchen (11), kicker Robert Meyer (88), and JACK Darris Smith (19) embrace after Mizzou’s 42-6 win over UMass on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Columbia. The Tigers recently had their penultimate sellout of the season after announcing they’ve sold out their matchup against Mississippi State.

Two Missouri standouts were named to prestigious midseason watch lists on Thursday.

Quarterback Beau Pribula was added to the Maxwell Award Midseason Watch List, which honors the nation’s most outstanding player. Linebacker Josiah Trotter earned a spot on the Bednarik Award Midseason Watch List, given annually to the top defensive player in college football.

Both have been integral to Mizzou’s 5-0 start. Pribula has accounted for more than 1,200 passing yards, while Trotter leads the defense accumulating 28 tackles to start the season.

Mississippi State game sold out

Memorial Stadium will be packed in the Tigers’ home finale. Mizzou announced Wednesday that its matchup against Mississippi State on Nov. 15 has officially sold out.

The sellout is significant — it means all but one home game this season has sold out. The school also announced that limited tickets remain for Missouri’s Nov. 8 home game against Texas A&M.

Alabama kickoff set for ABC

The SEC had announced over the summer that Missouri’s Oct. 11 contest against Alabama would kick off at 11 a.m. CT.

On Tuesday, the league confirmed the game will air on ABC.

SEC Media Days heading to Florida

For the first time, SEC Media Days is headed to the state of Florida.

The league will hold its 2026 event in Tampa from July 20-23, according to On3 Sports. The 2025 SEC Media Days were held at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tampa is also set to host the 2027 Florida-Georgia game and the 2028 College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 22, 2029.

Strong start fuels excitement

Mizzou fans have been treated to a perfect start. The Tigers are 5-0, and all five of those wins have come in Columbia. After this week’s bye, they’ll face Alabama in the final game of a six-game homestand — a matchup that could have major SEC and College Football Playoff implications.

Pribula has quickly emerged as one of the SEC’s top quarterbacks, throwing for 1,203 yards and nine touchdowns through five games. But it’s the play of sophomore transfer Ahmad Hardy that has elevated Missouri’s offense. Hardy has rushed for 730 yards and nine touchdowns, leading the country in rushing by more than 100 yards and putting together an All-American caliber season.

Missouri fans have had plenty to cheer for through the first five weeks. With big games still ahead, they’re hoping the Tigers’ strong start is just the beginning.
