The Black Belt Community Foundation's (BBCF) Head Start students are among several million kids in the nation to benefit from a federal child nutrition program, said the nonprofit.

BBCF students are among 3.3 million others that have taken part in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

"The goal of BBCF Head Start’s participation in the CACFB is to see that all students are served well-balanced meals and taught good eating habits," said a post on the BBCF Facebook page. "The nutritious meals and snacks served daily to BBCF Head Start students positively impacts 307 children."

See the USDA's page on the CACFP here for more information.
