What’s inside the Pentagon’s newest UFO files?

The Pentagon has released the fifth tranche of records documenting UFO sightings after Donald Trump called for more transparency.

The new documents include footage of flying objects.

In the latest release, many of the objects appear as black, circular shapes. However, in some footage, colorful lights can be seen.

In many of the videos, the UFOs appear low in the sky, near to ships, towns and boats.

Footage was filmed by the American military over the Gulf of Oman, an undisclosed area of the Middle East and Western America.

The objects were described as "cold orbs" measuring about 4 feet in diameter.

Alongside images and videos were written documents, including an interview with two U.S. military service members who described seeing a "massive black isosceles triangle" flying in the sky.

They described how it had lights the size of a car on each corner of the triangle, and how it made a "low humming" noise and a "pulsing sound."

They both said they were "dumbfounded" by what they witnessed.

The U.S. government says the sightings are still unexplained.

On Truth Social, Donald Trump wrote: "Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

In response, the United States secretary of war, Pete Hegseth, said: "The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government's understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.

"These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it's time the American people see it for themselves."

The department described the undertaking of publishing these records as "unprecedented" and a "historic undertaking."

A statement said: "Given the scope of this task, the Department of War will be releasing new materials on a rolling basis as they are discovered and declassified, with tranches posted every few weeks."
