On Wednesday Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed announced the expansion of the C Spire fiber network in the city.Â
"Today's announcement marks a significant milestone in our journey towards increasing access to advanced technology, especially all-fiber broadband connectivity," said a post on the city's Facebook page."
"The expansion of C Spire's fiber network, is a game changer for the entire River Region as it will provide residents, businesses, and institutions in the community with access to ultra-fast internet speeds."
C Spire is currently looking to reach 3,000 homes in 15 "fiberhoods", which is one or more connected neighborhoods. They have already connected almost 2,000 homes and more than 400 businesses.Â
"We are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our community and look forward to the continued growth of Montgomery's tech sector," added the city's Facebook post.Â
