The latest Barbecue on the Green in Selma had a "tremendous turn out" on Oct. 8, said a statement from its organizer, Sturdivant Hall.Â
More than 500 plates of barbecue were served during the annual fundraiser that raises money for the historic museum.Â
"Diners enjoyed a barbeque dinner catered by Lannie's Bar-B-Q Spot, homemade desserts, and live music by Ed and Rick Williams," said the statement. "Many lucky winners made bids at the event’s second annual silent auction featuring a showcase of artwork from local and regional artists. Dinner was served under the stars on Sturdivant Hall’s expansive back lawn."
Next Sturdivant Hall will host Artisan Fair, which is a handicraft pop-up marketplace that is held inside the museum, on Nov. 21 and the Christmas Open House on Dec. 4-5.
Sturdivant Hall Museum is located on 713 Mabry Street.Â
