Jaquon Jones Uniontown shot

15 year old Jaquon Jones of Uniontown, a student and football player at R.C.Hatch was injured in a shooting while visiting family the evening of July 14.

Jaquon Jones is back home in Uniontown after spending his 16th birthday in a hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the back.  

The 10th grader can return to school soon, and several of his friends have already taken the responsibility to help him adjust to his wheelchair.  

Jaquon’s mother, Justina Jones, is a praying warrior, and says she is grateful for the care her son was given to be able to walk again. However, she said she was concerned that no one has been arrested for the shooting of Jaquon.  

“I will be talking to the DA (district attorney) myself,” Jones said.  

Jaquon Jones is a football player at RC Hatch. The city went under a curfew after his shooting on July 14.   

Uniontown police said after the shooting that they had leads and asked for more witnesses to come forward by call the Police Department at 334-581-5144 or City Hall at 334-628-2011.

The Black Belt News Network reached out to the Uniontown police department for updated information on the case and have not heard back.
