J.M. Smucker Co. is recalling more Jif products after the first recall it issued in May when a salmonella contamination was discovered.

According to media reports, Del Monte's PB& J sandwiches and certain of Albertsons' store-made snacks are among those being recalled.

Symptoms of salmonella include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

A way to identify a product that has been recalled is to locate the lot code numbers found near the "best by" date. The code's first seven digits ending in 425 indicates that it was made in Lexington, KY, which is where the contamination originated.

If this code starts with four numbers between 1274 and 2140 the product should not be consumed.
