DURANT, Okla. (KTEN) - The Southeastern Savage Storm drop heartbreaking loss to the Henderson State Reddies 21-20.

DURANT, Okla. – Andrew Grissom recorded a defensive touchdown and Southeastern took a lead into the fourth quarter, but saw it disappear over the final 10 minutes in a 21-20 homecoming loss to Henderson State on Saturday afternoon on Paul Laird Field at Spend Life Wisely Stadium.

The loss dropped the Savage Storm to 4-5 overall on the season heading into the final road game of the season versus Southern Arkansas Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in Magnolia, Ark.

Southeastern's defense forced a pair of turnovers, turning one of them into a touchdown.
Â
William Wallis racked up 10 tackles, his most in a game on the season, including 1.5 tackles for loss to lead the Storm.
Â
D'Teaurean Johnson and Braeden Winters each added nine tackles, with Kamron Field picking up seven and Andrew Grissom chipping in six.
Â
Johnson recorded the team's lone sack, while Wallis and Winters each had 1.5 tackles for loss.
Â
Trevion Butler forced a pair of fumbles, while Johnson and Joseph Jones added a force apiece, while Grissom recovered two fumbles, returning both, one for a 40-yard touchdown and the other for 17 yards.

The offense did its damage on the ground as Johnathan Cobb Jr. turned in a season-high 78 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown run.

Luke Hohenberger added 33 yards on nine carries and Kamron Lockhart chipped in 24 on five totes.

Hohenberger finished the game 7-of-11 for 89 yards through the air and a touchdown.
Â
Victor Taylor Jr. led the way with three catches for 40 yards, while Colt Simpson and Donovan Shannon each logged two catches.

Gabe Corona picked up one catch but made it count, hauling in a 12-yard toss for a touchdown.

Southeastern found itself behind midway through the first quarter as a Logan Dorsey punt was blocked and bounded out of the back of the endzone for a safety and a 2-0 lead for the Reddies.

That would remain the score through the remainder fo the first quarter and into he second until the 12:19 mark when HSU scored from 10 yards out on a Chris Gannaway run, but the PAT would clang off the left upright, leaving the score 8-0.

The defenses firmed up and neither offense moved the ball until the Storm took over at its own two-yard line and marching 98 yards on 10 plays and using just 1:56 before Hohenberger connected with Corona for a 12-yard touchdown pass and SE closed the gap to 8-7 heading to the half.

Southeastern opened the second half by kicking off but would strike from the defensive side of the ball three plays into the HSU drive as D'Teaurean Johnson forced a fumble and Grissom scooped it up and took it 40 yards to the house, extending the SE lead to 13-8 with 14:12 to go third quarter.

The Storm manufactured stops on the next three HSU drives, taking over with 1:51 to play in the third and holding possession through the remainder of the frame, maintaining its 13-8 lead.

On the first play of the fourth quarter Hohenberger hit Taylor for 46 yards, setting up a 41-yard Cobb TD gallop a play later to push the SE lead to 20-8 with 14:06 to play.

However, the Reddies answered with a 10-play, 68-yard drive and scored with 10:20 to play to trim the Southeastern advantage to 20-15.

The ensuing Storm drive burned 3:42 but lasted just five plays and ended in a punt.

HSU followed with a four-play drive capped by a 55-yard Andrew Edwards to Cayden Davis touchdown toss, and after the Storm stuffed the two-point try left Reddies up 21-20 with 3:57 to play.

Southeastern's next drive suffered from a pair of penalties and ended when a pass to Kobe Jennings was off the mark on fourth down.

HSU picked up a first down on its following drive and run out the clock, leaving the final 21-20.
